What Google Says About Design and Simplicity

Google's new logo (which they released in 2015) actually teaches a fantastic lesson. It's a lesson about simplicity and clarity. Without going into too much detail, Google specifically says that they designed their new logo "with the childlike simplicity of schoolbook letter printing."

Think about how that concept can be applied to everything you do. Google created a massive company around an all white search page with one search box on it:
"The Google logo has always had a simple, friendly, and approachable style. We wanted to retain these qualities by combining the mathematical purity of geometric forms with the childlike simplicity of schoolbook letter printing. Our new logotype is set in a custom, geometric sans-serif typeface and maintains the multi-colored playfulness and rotated ‘e’ of our previous mark—a reminder that we’ll always be a bit unconventional."
